THE EMG PATH / 1099 INDEPENDENT SALES
Your business.Your first offer.
Build your independent sales practice through EMG’s 1099 opportunities. Start with a real offer, strengthen skills you can use beyond it, and explore Southern California or road-trip projects.
Commission-based independent-contractor opportunities. Earnings vary and are not guaranteed. Review the written agreement, compensation, and responsibilities before you commit.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE WORK
Two projects.
Know the difference.
Start with the offer and the work involved. Then get the current project details from the team before choosing your next step.
01 / SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Fixed-rate natural gas
- The offer
- A supplier’s fixed-rate natural gas plan. The supply rate, contract term, eligibility, and applicable charges need to be explained accurately.
- The work
- Start customer conversations, understand their questions, explain the terms, and help interested customers take the appropriate next step. A fixed supply rate does not mean a fixed total bill or guaranteed savings.
- Your starting point
- Share where you are based and when you can start. Confirm the exact territory, sales activity, and current opening with the team. A Spark Rep ID is needed for the full onboarding form, but not for an initial inquiry.
02 / LOCAL-GENERATION TRAVEL TEAM
Local generation
- The offer
- Enrollment in an off-site solar project for eligible utility customers. Bill credits and enrollment requirements depend on the assigned program and the customer’s account.
- The work
- Have field conversations, check program eligibility, explain the provider and terms, and help customers complete accurate enrollment steps. Record outcomes and follow-ups, including when someone declines.
- Your starting point
- Share your preferred markets and travel availability. The listed markets are areas of interest; the team confirms the destination, dates, and available placement before you make travel plans.
Both paths involve starting conversations, hearing “no,” keeping accurate records, and earning through commissions that can vary. EMG represents the offer; it is not the customer’s utility.
YOUR FIRST OFFER IS A STARTING POINT
Build your sales practice.
Take the skills with you.
EMG’s opportunities are structured as 1099 independent-contractor sales work. Approach it as building your own sales practice: understand the offer, develop customer relationships, track your activity, and follow through.
The offer you sell today does not have to be your last. Listening, prospecting, explaining value, handling objections, and staying organized can carry into a business, creative practice, or independent offer of your own.
Start conversations
Learn to approach people, ask good questions, and understand what they need.
Make value clear
Explain an offer accurately. Answer questions and respect the customer’s decision.
Build a repeatable practice
Track conversations, organize follow-ups, learn from feedback, and understand your numbers.
YOUR FIRST CONVERSATION
Leave with the details.
Decide with a clear picture.
Use these three questions with the team. Rates, support arrangements, and travel costs are specific to the project; get the relevant terms before committing.
How does pay work?
Ask for the current commission schedule, what makes a sale payable, payment timing, and how cancellations or reversals are handled. Review the written contractor agreement.
What support will I have?
Confirm the onboarding process, approved offer materials, practice or training available, and your contact for field questions and feedback.
What will I need to cover?
Confirm dates, working expectations, equipment, transportation, and any lodging arrangements. Know which expenses are yours and which, if any, are covered.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Good questions.
Clear expectations.
What does 1099 mean here?
The opportunity is offered as independent-contractor sales work, with responsibilities set out in a written agreement. Discuss how compensation, expenses, taxes, and any insurance or registration requirements apply to your situation. Receiving a 1099 alone does not determine legal worker classification.
Is income guaranteed?
No. This is commission-based work. Ask about commission rates, qualification rules, payment timing, cancellations or reversals, and expenses before deciding whether a project makes sense for you.
Can I use the skills for my own offer later?
That is the point: learn to find customers, understand needs, explain value, and follow through. Those skills can serve your own future offer. Customer records, confidential information, and any contractual obligations remain subject to your agreement.
Are travel and housing included?
Arrangements vary by project. Confirm dates, lodging, transport, costs, and responsibilities directly with the team before booking or traveling.
Do I need to buy AminAura services to inquire?
No. The EMG inquiry is free. AminAura’s AI integration, website, and brand services are separate, optional business services.
Do I need sales experience?
Tell us where you are starting. We’ll discuss the specific role, requirements, available support, and fit. Sending an inquiry does not guarantee acceptance or placement.
