Make the first version.

Pick one idea. Give it a person, a purpose, and a first useful result. Then decide what you can do before another half hour disappears.

Start with this illustrative art-project example, or replace it with your own. It is a planning example, not a customer story.

What is the idea?

A plain sentence is enough. You do not need a brand name yet.

Who is it for?

Picture a particular person or situation, rather than everyone.

What would it make easier?

Describe what is frustrating, missing, or unnecessarily difficult.

What is the smallest useful version?

One sample, one page, one demo, or one clear result—not the whole business.

What can you do in the next 30 minutes?

Choose something you can finish or show. If it needs longer, name its first part.

What will you ask someone to try or explain?

Look for behavior and specific feedback, not only whether they like it.

3. Ask for specific feedback, then change one thing that matters.

Ask three willing viewers which size they would choose, where they would put it, and what makes them hesitate.

What makes this more useful than a to-do list?

You define the person and problem before listing tasks. You finish something small enough for someone to try. Then you use their behavior and questions to decide what to improve. For the print example, choosing a size or explaining where the print would go tells you more than a friendly “looks great.” Asking a few people starts the learning; it does not establish market demand.

Give AI a useful brief.

The useful part is knowing what you need, what is true, and how you will judge the result. Put that into a brief you can take to the AI tool you use.

What are you trying to finish?

Describe an output you could actually use.

Who will use the result?

Name their situation and what they need from it.

What is true—and what is still unknown?

Use relevant facts. Leave out passwords, private records and sensitive details.

What are the boundaries?

Time, budget, format, resources, and anything the answer must avoid.

What should the finished answer look like?

For example: a one-page brief, an editable checklist, or a table with owners.

How will you check it?

Give two or three requirements you can inspect, not just ‘make it good.’

We have 60 minutes, one camera, a reflector, and an outdoor location. The client needs three natural portraits for a personal website. The exact weather is not confirmed.

## Constraints
No new equipment purchases. Use natural light. Include time to help the client feel comfortable. Do not invent venue permission, weather, or the client's preferences.

## The finished output
A one-page brief with the shot list, a timed sequence, what each person brings, and a bad-weather alternative

## How I will review it
The schedule totals 60 minutes. Every shot serves one of the three portraits. Mark anything we must confirm before the shoot.

## How to work
1. Identify any missing fact that would materially change the result. Ask a focused question only if you cannot responsibly continue without it. Otherwise, state your assumption and make a first version.
2. Use the supplied facts. Label guesses and unverified claims. Do not invent experience, credentials, sources or results.
3. Produce the actual requested output, with clear steps or examples wherever they help.
4. Check the result against every review requirement above. Show what passes and what still needs work.
5. End with the next action I can take and any fact I should verify before using the result.

What should I check before using the answer?

Read it against your requirements. Check calculations and factual claims. If the AI names a source, open the original and confirm it supports the claim. Keep guesses separate from facts, and do not share sensitive information just to make a prompt longer. A well-written brief gives the work direction; you still decide whether the result is good enough to use.
